How to Slant Yeast

One of the great things about homebrewing beer is the incredible range of yeast available to us. However, it can be expensive to buy each time ($4-10+ per 5 gal batch), and many methods for storing it can be difficult and time consuming. Yeast slanting is an easy way to build up a large yeast bank for long time storage. It doesn't require much equipment, and has very little maintenance compared to other yeast banking methods.
